The objective of the agreement is to employ artificial intelligence technology in order to modernize the service delivery within the transport and logistics sector.
During the signing ceremony, Engineer Worku Gachena, the Director General of the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute, delivered a message emphasizing that the incorporation of AI technology in modernizing the transport sector will significantly contribute to stimulating the country’s economy.
The Director General further added that the institute is dedicated to employing artificial intelligence technology-enhanced methods to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of services within the sector.
On the other hand, during this time, Dr. Alemu Sime, the Minister of Transport and Logistics, emphasized the importance of supporting the transport sector with technology, as it serves as the foundation for the country’s economic and social activities.
The minister further added that the agreement will contribute to expediting the ongoing development journey by reducing unnecessary human intervention in the ministry’s services, thus enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
