The Director General of Uganda’s External Security Organisation (ESO), His Excellency Mr. Joseph Okello Ocwet, led a delegation on a visit to the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute. The delegation was welcomed by Yitagesu Dessalegn, the Deputy Director General of the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence institute.
During the visit, the Deputy Director General showcased the institute’s activities and outlined its vision to become a leading AI institute in Africa. He emphasized the institute’s commitment to fostering collaborations with neighbouring countries like Uganda to strengthen African unity and technological advancement.
Mr. Joseph Okello praised Ethiopia’s achievements in artificial intelligence and highlighted its potential as a model for other African nations.
The visit marks a significant step towards enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of AI between Uganda and Ethiopia.
