Osmo, a pioneer in digital olfaction, has developed an AI system capable of analyzing a scent in one location and recreating it elsewhere autonomously. This innovation is built on Osmo’s Principal Odor Map (POM), an advanced database utilizing AI to predict how combinations of molecules correspond to particular smells.
The AI model, trained on a dataset of 5,000 aroma molecules across various categories like floral, fruity, and minty, identifies patterns in molecular structures. With this knowledge, it can predict and recreate the scent of new molecules. After the molecular profile of a scent is analyzed, the data is sent to a robotic system that mixes the necessary molecules to reproduce the aroma.
By enabling the digitization and recreation of scents, it opens new possibilities for industries like virtual reality, e-commerce, and healthcare. This technological advancement underscores AI’s vast potential to transcend sensory experiences beyond visual and auditory realms. It further showcases AI’s ability to reshape and enhance human experiences in profound ways.
