During the signing ceremony, the Director-General of the Artificial Intelligence Institute, Engineer Worku Gachena, stated that the institute is strengthening its technological support to cities throughout Ethiopia to make them more comfortable for their residents and Adama has become the beneficiary of this opportunity.
The Director-General further stated that the institute would offer artificial intelligence tools in order to implement Adama City’s smart city concept. Thus, the cooperation agreement focuses on health, finance, education, smart security, and other sectors.
According to Hailu Jalde, the Mayor of the Adama City Administration, the agreement is significant to modernize the city. He asserted the administration and institute will coordinate efforts to carry out the agreement.
The city administration has set ten goals to transform Adama into a smart city and comfortable for residents.
