Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (Ph.D.) is attending the 16th BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia. During the event, he highlighted several critical topics, with a strong focus on the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
In his remarks, Prime Minister Abiy highlighted the importance of international cooperation to fully leverage the benefits of AI. He mentioned that leaders from China and Russia voiced their support for ethical practices in the implementation of this technology.
The Prime Minister also discussed Ethiopia’s initiatives in the tourism sector and its efforts to develop Smart Cities. He urged member countries to enhance collaborative ties across various sectors, including AI.
This call for ethical governance of AI aligns with comments made by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who emphasized the need for BRICS nations to responsibly utilize and regulate the technology.
