This important day serves as a global recognition of women’s social, economic, cultural, and political achievements, while also raising awareness about gender equality and women’s rights.
This year marked the 113th global celebration of International Women’s Day and the 48th celebration in Ethiopia. The institute’s staff gathered to commemorate the occasion under the theme “Let’s empower women, ensure development, and peace!” During the ceremony, Engineer Worku Gachna, the Director General of the institute, conveyed his greetings to all the female employees on this special day.
In his message, the Director General emphasized the significant role women play in driving the institutional changes happening within the institute. He acknowledged that women still face unique responsibilities and pressures, he also stressed the importance of providing them with support and encouragement.
