The agreement between the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute and the Ethiopian Institute of Public Health creates a collaborative partnership to conduct joint research in the health field, seek data-driven solutions that ensure public health safety, build human resources and infrastructure, and develop a health system aided by artificial intelligence technology.
In a message on the program, Taye Girma (Dr), the deputy director-general of the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute, stated that the health field is the primary focus area for the institute. He emphasized that working with the Institute of Public Health to modernize the field and make healthcare services accessible to all communities would enable the Artificial Intelligence Institute to do effective work in the short term.
Dr. Mesai Hailu, the executive director of the Ethiopian Institute of Public Health, said that the agreement to work with the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute would allow the institutions to modernize the public health system with technology, integrate their capabilities, and provide the necessary resources for public health safety.
The Director General further stated that, this partnership would make a significant contribution to improving the country’s overall health system.
