The digital national corruption crime report system (NCRS), developed through collaboration between the Institute and the Federal Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, was inaugurated in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh.
During the launch event, the Deputy Prime Minister remarked that efforts are underway to modernize governmental operations and to enhance accountability. The Deputy PM further emphasized that the integration of such a digital system will have a significant impact.
The Director General of the Institute, Worku Gachena, Ph.D., remarked that the system will efficiently uncover the intricate nature of corruption crimes through technology. Additionally, the Director General mentioned that the development of the system took four months.
Commissioner of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, Samuel Urkato (Ph.D.), stated that digitizing the citizens’ corruption reporting process will greatly enhance the effectiveness of combating corruption.
The system provides options for citizens to report corruption crimes through mobile phones and computers, regardless of their location.
