A delegation consisting of officials from the Addis Ababa city administration and the federal government, led by Her Excellency Mayor Adanech Abiebie, has visited the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute (EAII). During the visit, the Director General of the Institute, Worku Gachena (Ph.D.), provided a briefing on the operations of the institute.
During the visit, the Mayor delivered a message stating that the institute, within a short period since its establishment, has proven our capability to generate and oversee our own technological innovations.
The Mayor also highlighted that the development of AI solutions by Ethiopians to modernize operations and improve efficiency is remarkable. Additionally, the Mayor emphasized that the institute is a reflection of the remarkable progress in Ethiopia’s insititutional development through technology.
The Mayor noted that the major challenge in our country is information management, emphasizing that effectively collecting, analyzing, and utilizing data through technology for decision-making is essential.
